Lindsay M. Sutton, PhD, MSPH

Generation Y

Dr. Sutton currently serves as a Strategic Planner in the Brand Strategy division at Intermark Group, a Birmingham-based company that operates as a full-service advertising agency. With her doctorate in Psychology, she brings the science to the art and science of advertising. She uses her training to help guide the development of successful campaigns by bringing psychological theory and research into the equation. With advanced training in human development, decision-making analytics, motivation, and behavior change, Dr. Sutton applies unique behavioral and psychological insights for clients in an effort to help shape consumer thinking and promote behavior change.

Additionally, her training in research methodology, as well as advanced analytics and statistics, allows her to design and implement research aptly suited to answer any relevant question for clients. She currently has experience on campaigns and research projects for non-profit organizations, major universities, health insurance companies, and medical centers and facilities. She also regularly assists in new business development.

Dr. Sutton received her PhD in Psychology and her Master of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Outcomes Research from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a Magna Cum Laude distinction in Psychology and Sociology from Vanderbilt University.

Regina Lewis, PhD

Dr. Lewis serves as an Associate Professor in the Advertising and Public Relations (APR) at The University of Alabama and teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses on Consumer Insights, Media, and Campaigns, as well as actively serves as an independent consultant and guest speaker. She served as faculty here during the late 1990s and recently returned in 2012 to rejoin the department.

Before returning to the academia, Dr. Lewis was VP of Global Insights for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), where she led a drive to grow the Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and InterContinental hotel brands both domestically and internationally through break-through consumer understanding. Prior to her time at IHG, Dr. Lewis leveraged a multi-million dollar budget to position the Dunkin’ Donuts brand for success. Other companies with which Dr. Lewis has partnered during her Insights career include Amazon.com, GlaxoSmithKline, and Procter & Gamble.

Dr. Lewis received her PhD in Communication Research from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her MBA in Marketing from Columbia University, and her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Ohio University.
